Applications Being Taken for Vacancy on the Buena Vista County Conservation Board

The Buena Vista County Conservation Board is looking to fill a vacancy on its board.

Board members are appointed by the Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors for five-year terms. Due to a recent vacancy, a newly appointed candidate would be filling a term that will expire at the end of 2028. All board members have the potential to be reappointed at the end of their term.

A qualified candidate must live in Buena Vista County, and have demonstrated interest in conservation matters. A description of duties and applications are available at the BV Conservation Board Office, the BV County Auditor’s Office, or can be downloaded on county website.

The BV Conservation Board is overseen by a five-member volunteer board that has the ability to set rules and regulations, enter into contracts, employ a director, set goals, and oversee expenditures. Meetings are open to the public, and are held the second Tuesday of the month at 4pm at the Conservation Board Office in Peterson.
