AgState Donates to a New Swine Barn in Ida Grove

AgState is donating five-thousand dollars to a new swine barn at the fairgrounds in Ida Grove.

The barn was designed by the Ida County Fair Board and Ida County Agriculture Society.

The new building is 60’x120’, with white tin, spray foam insulated roof, fan-air circulated, with a 14’ north door. The south side of the building will open directly to the show ring for ease of maneuvering animals. There will be 108 removable swine pens for use during the fair.

When the new swine barn is not being used for swine shows, it can be used for rental storage or large gathering events. The Ida County Agriculture Society is hoping to hold Agriculture Education events (FFA/4-H), graduation parties or possibly weddings.

The Ida County Fair kicks off next Tuesday, July 18th and closes for the season on Sunday, July 23rd.
