A special Storm Lake “Meet the Mayor” event will be held on Tuesday of next week, October 11th for a discussion of the City’s comprehensive plan.
The event will be held at Our Place at 110 East 3rd Street from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
The Comprehensive Plan process is an opportunity for the community to share its vision and goals to shape the future of Storm Lake for years to come. The plan will be a strategic map to achieve the community’s goals. The plan can help to preserve natural resource and public spaces, identify issues, stay ahead of trends and accommodate development, foster sustainable economic development, ensure efficient and cost-effective infrastructure and public services, and more.
The plan will be prepared over the next several months. Once the draft plan is completed, it will go before the Storm Lake Planning and Zoning Board, which will then make a recommendation to the city council for potential approval. There will be a chance for public comment and input prior to action being taken at each step.
