Man Found Dead in Lake View Being Investigated

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a man found dead in a Lake View residence.
The Lake View Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Blossom Street on Tuesday on a report of a male that was possibly deceased. Upon arrival, police located a man, identified as 43-year-old James Wesley Cooper of Fort Dodge. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Cooper, as police say that suspicious circumstances were found at the scene.
There is no continuing threat to the Lake View community, and the investigation is on-going.
The Lake View Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, the Sac City Police Department, Iowa Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Sac County Sheriff's Office. Also assisting was the Lake View and Sac City units of the Sac County Ambulance Service.
