16th Women in Denim Event Wraps Up at BVU
January 25, 2020 2:15pm
Approximately 230 women signed up for the 16th annual “Women in Denim” event that took place today and Friday at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.
“Women in Denim” celebrates women in rural America, and Committee member Gretchen Miller called it a great success.
"We had great attendance, the weather was super, and all of the feedback that we've gotten is very positive. We're excited to hear that," Miller said.
Nearly 30 vendors were on hand, and Miller said they always hope to grow the event a little bit every year, and the feedback they receive from participants is important.
"We used their feedback to help guide us in the direction that we need to go with topics and speakers," Miller said. "We hope to be able to continue to provide this great opportunity for women to come together and network and share that spirit of agriculture with each other."
“Women in Denim” included five sessions today with 20 speakers. The “Inspiration Award” winner this year was Jill Engellman.
