A presentation on May Term was given to the Storm Lake School Board at their meeting this week.
May Term is project-based learning for high school students, similar to programs that are in place at Newell Fonda and Spirit Lake. It would be held May 13th through the 21st, with a presentation day on May 22nd.
Some of the topics offered are Norwegian language learning, analog gaming, interior design, baking basics, niche sports, the history of rock and roll, DIY, and beginning aviation. Internships would also be offered.
Superintendent Dr. Stacey Cole said feedback from students regarding May Term has been positive, and the board will get feedback from parents before it's brought back to the School Board for formal approval.
