Woman Drives Through the Front of Post Office

(Storm Lake, IA) -- This weekend the Storm Lake Police Department was called for a report about a vehicle driving into a building.
Police observed that a motor vehicle that was driven by Maria Menchaca, age 58 of Sioux Rapids went through the front glass doors of the post office.
An investigation determined that the driver accidentally stepped on the vehicle’s accelerator instead of the brake.
The post office building sustained approximately $10,000.00 in damage and the vehicle approximately $6000.00 in damage.
There were no injuries.
