Marcus Man Arrested on Recent Burglaries in Area

(Cherokee, IA) -- A Marcus man has been arrested on charges of burglary and money laundering among others.

Between 10/11/19 and 10/17/19 The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Marcus Police Department received multiple reports of Burglaries and Thefts occurring in Marcus and the surrounding areas.

These incidents included reports of burglaries to businesses, automobiles as well as thefts from multiple windmill sites.

As a result, The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Marcus Police Department conducted a joint investigation.

During the early morning hours on 10/20/19 the MPD and CCSO executed a search warrant on a vehicle determined to be involved in these incidents. Officers located stolen property related to the burglaries and thefts.

That same day officers executed a second search warrant of a home. Officers recovered stolen property, burglary tools, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

As a result 34 year old Andrew Bock,of Marcus, was arrested on charges filed by the MPD and CCSO that include Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a class B Felony, Money Laundering, a class C Felony, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, a class C Felony, and three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, a class D Felony among other charges.
