(Storm Lake, IA) -- A Storm Lake man is being held at the Buena Vista County Jail on over 40,000 dollars bond on multiple charges.

The investigation alleges that between October 4 and 6, 2019 the victim’s debit card was used at six area businesses with purchases totaling over $700.00. The police investigation identified the suspect as Moo Nay Hea, age 25 of Storm Lake.

On the morning of Saturday, October 12, 2019, the Storm Lake Police Department stopped a vehicle driven by Hea in the parking lot of the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store. Upon making contact with Hea police allege he refused to identify himself or exit his vehicle. Police removed Hea from his vehicle at which time they allege he physically resisted and fought with officers. Police took Hea to the ground and subdued him.

Hea sustained minor injuries in his struggle with police but did not require medical attention.

An investigation following Hea’s arrest located and recovered a flat-screen television valued at over $400.00 and an I Phone 6 valued at over $250.00 purchased with the stolen debit/credit card.

The SLPD on Saturday charged Hea with Ongoing Criminal Conduct (class B felony), Forgery, 6 counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card (both aggravated misdemeanors), Theft 4th Degree (serious misdemeanor), 5 counts of Theft 5th Degree by Deception and Interference With Official Acts (both simple misdemeanors). He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $41,000.00 bond.
