A Storm Lake man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife.
Storm Lake Police were dispatched to 309 Ontario Street at approximately 1am on Sunday in reference to a report of a woman outside of residence screaming that “he is going to kill her”.
Upon arrival of police, they located an adult female outside of the residence, who alleged that her husband, identified as 27-year-old Victor Montoya of Storm Lake, physically assaulted her during an argument in the residence by striking her in the face and chest, and throwing her onto a bed and choking her, impeding her airflow.
Police located Montoya inside of the residence and took him into custody.
The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene by paramedics, but declined being transported to the medical center.
Following an investigation, Montoya was charged with Domestic Assault Impeding the Flow of Air or Blood, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
