A Storm Lake man who was charged earlier this year with Sexual Abuse by Storm Lake Police has been arrested in Minnesota.

The Storm Lake Police Department in early February initiated an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old-female. Police allege that 18-year-old Toua Yang of Storm Lake sexually assaulted the 12-year-old on three occasions between September 11th of last year and January 6th of this year at multiple locations in Storm Lake. At the time the incident was reported to police, they were unable to locate Yang.

Storm Lake Police acquired arrest warrants charging Yang with three counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, a Class C felony. Yang was entered into a nationwide data base as being wanted.

Shortly after 1:30 this morning, the Storm Lake Police Department was advised that Yang had been located and arrested by the St. Paul, Minnesota Police Department and had been jailed in the Ramsey County, Minnesota County Jail awaiting extradition back to Iowa. He’s being held on a ten-thousand dollar bond.

Storm Lake Police were assisted in the investigation by the St. Paul, Minnesota Police Department, and the Child Advocacy Center in Sioux City.
