September 27, 2019 10:47am

Storm Lake native Jaci Hermstad received another infusion of the drug on Thursday designed to fight her rare form of ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The treatment was given by doctors at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

The infusion on Thursday was the sixth that was administered to Jaci. Thursday's infusion was the largest dosage given to her to date.

The National Honor Society at Sioux Central High School has been raising money this week for Jaci's medical costs. The group is hosting an ice bucket challenge for Jaci beginning at 5:30 this evening during the tailgate, leading up the Sioux Central's football game against Ridge View.
