Spencer Man Arrested
August 13, 2019 12:13pm
An incident early Sunday in downtown Spencer landed a Spencer man in jail on multiple charges.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says it happened a little after 2:00 a-m when a deputy who was in an alley investigating another matter saw a vehicle come through the one-way alley the wrong way. Authorities say as the deputy tried to approach the driver, the driver fled. The deputy got a look at the driver and identified him as 33-year-old Lemarr Kelly of Spencer.
Kelly was located a short time later at his residence and was taken into custody. He was charged with driving while suspended, second offense OWI, and interference with official acts.
Kelly was booked into jail pending an initial court appearance. The Spencer Police Department assisted in the investigation.
