A Storm Lake woman was charged after police Tuesday night were dispatched to 1726 East Milwaukee Avenue to investigate a report of harassment.
Officers met with the reporting party, who alleged 39-year-old Melinda Smith of Storm Lake had been texting the reporting party in a harassing nature. Smith allegedly came to the reporting party’s apartment and started banging on her door and yelling. Smith left before the arrival of police.
Early Wednesday morning, police located Smith at 1804 East Milwaukee Avenue and arrested her. She was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, both simple misdemeanors. It was determined Smith was wanted on two Buena Vista County warrants in connection with possession of a controlled substance.
Smith was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
