Fight Additional Arrests

Storm Lake Police report that several more arrests have been made in connection with the fight that occurred early last Friday morning in Awaysis Park.
An investigation has determined that following the reported incident in Awaysis Park, a second confrontation involving some of the same people and additional people summoned by both parties occurred at approximately 1:00am near a basketball court in the 300 block of College Street. At the second incident, several carloads of teens and young adults confronted a second group that were located on the basketball court. The second incident wasn’t confirmed by police until Friday afternoon while investigators were conducting a canvass of the area around the basketball court on College Street.
As previously reported, a-16-year-old male of Storm Lake was arrested Friday morning in connection with the incident in Awaysis Park. Since Monday, the Storm Lake Police Department have made six more arrests in connection with the two related incidents.
A 17 year old male of Storm Lake was charged as an adult with Willful Injury, a class C felony...and two counts of Assault and Disorderly Conduct, all simple misdemeanors. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a ten-thousand 900 dollar bond.
A 17 year old male of Storm Lake was charged with Disorderly Conduct. He was processed and released to a guardian pending an appearance in Juvenile Court.
The following were all charged with Disorderly Conduct...18-year-old Maricela Gonzalez of Storm Lake, and 18-year-old Harley Bucheli of Storm Lake, and 18-year-old Paola Salcedo Garcia were all booked into the county jail on a 300-dollar bond each. A 16-year-old male of Storm Lake was processed and released to an adult pending an appearance in Juvenile Court
The investigation is continuing with additional arrests possible.
