SL Council: Loan Notes, Noise Variances
January 19, 2016
The city of Storm Lake is beginning the process of refinancing one-and-a-half million dollars in bonds.
Monday the city council held a public hearing and approved a resolution for the capital loan notes, which will be at a lower interest rate than the original notes issued in 2007 to pay for a portion of the Awaysis project. Finance director Jane Smith says the refinancing is expected to save the city 233-thousand dollars in interest.
In other business, the council approved noise variances for the 2016 Buena Vista University Winterfest on February 20th for Scout Park and the 2016 Buenafication Day for the BVU campus on April 28th. The council approved Trevina Jefferson to serve on the Storm Water Advisory Committee.
