An informational meeting is scheduled next week to help potential vendors for the RAGBRAI overnight stop in Storm Lake get started in their preparations.
The meeting will be held next Monday, May 8th starting at 5:30pm at King’s Pointe Resort. Those that are considering selling food or other goods during the RAGBRAI event are encouraged to stop by. The public is also welcome to attend.
The meeting is being sponsored by the Storm Lake RAGBRAI Food and Vendor Committee. Buena Vista County Environmental Health Director Ben Mueggenberg will share information on meeting the health and safety regulations that are involved with food sales.
There are no official food vendors traveling with RAGBRAI, so many providers are needed. Local nonprofit groups, civic organizations, churches, and local establishments have a chance to raise funds, while providing food and beverages for thousands of RAGBRAI riders.
Anyone who wishes to be a vendor must apply. Application fees are important to help the local committee put on a positive event for all visitors. Committee members will be on hand to answer questions and help in filing vendor applications.
