Nature Nights ~ Owls & Constellations

June 20 @ 8:00pm - 11:00pm

Buena Vista County Conservation is announcing a new Nature Night series which will be held once a month this summer.

The first Nature Night will focus on birds of prey and summer constellations. The program is scheduled for Friday, June 20 at the South Area of Buena Vista County Conservation Park.

The program is set to begin at 8 p.m. with Luna, a barred owl, and Odin, a red-tailed hawk. These two live education birds will be on hand as participants learn about the raptors that rule the skies of Iowa.

At 9 p.m., everyone will head to woods to call for the species of owls that nest in the park. If weather permits, there will be a lesson on the night sky, including the moon, planets, and visible constellations.

Registration is required for this program. Contact the Conservation Office at 712-295 -7985 by Wednesday, June 18 at 4 p.m. This program could be cancelled due to inclement weather or lack of participants.
